What's a PLAY DAY like?
Lots of good, clean, all-American fun
with people and horses!
Arrival:
All horses must have current, negative coggins.
Bring your papers for EACH horse or we will have
to ask you to leave.

Arena opens at 6 p.m. for warm-ups.

Food and Drink:
Great food in the Cook Shack!
Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Nachos!
And plenty of junk food!

Watching and Playing:
There is nice bleacher seating available.
You may bring lawn chairs, blankets, etc.
Play area for the little kids (requires your supervision)

Classes:
Events begin at 7 p.m.
They are age-segregated (called "Classes")

Leadline - any age (must be led at all times)
PeeWee - 6 and under
Youth -  ages 7 - 10
Junior - ages 11 - 14
Senior - ages 15 - 20
Over the Horizon - 21 and over
(Your age as of January 1)

Format: (this is different than most clubs!)
First Set (might need a better "name" for this)
Leadline will compete in Western Pleasure.
Next, PeeWees will do Western Pleasure.
Then Youth will do Western Pleasure.

We will set 4 poles.  Leadline will go first, then
PeeWees for Poles.  After that, 2 more poles will be
added for Youth Poles.

Barrels for Leadline and PeeWees will be set shorter
than the AQHA pattern.  After they finish, Youth will
run the "full-size" barrel pattern.  

15 minute break - for other classes to warm-up.
Drag.

Second Set (thought of a better "name?")
Western Pleasure for Juniors,
then for Seniors, then for Over the Horizon.

6 Poles set.  Juniors, first; next Seniors;
then Over the Horizon.  
Poles Exhibitions will follow.  

Barrels set.  Juniors, first; next Seniors;
then Over the Horizon.
Barrel Exhibitions will follow.

Alternate Weekly:
Speed Race for each Second-Set Class.
Flag Race for each Second-Set Class.  

Events:
Western Pleasure:
Leadline and PeeWee - only use half of the arena.

Rule Change 5.09 for Leadline Western Pleasure ONLY.
Judge will critique and encourage...no placings will be
awarded.  Each rider will get participation ribbon and
3 points toward year end and all around point totals.

For Junior classes and above to receive points:
No tie downs or training devices
Must use split reins

Poles:
Only use 4 poles for Leadline and PeeWee

Pole Exhibitions -
no placings or points /  not age-segregated

Barrels:
Pattern set shorter for Leadline and PeeWee

Barrel Exhibitions -
no placings or points / not age-segregated

Speed:
Giddy-up! Go!  
Round the barrel at the end and get out of the pen!

Flags:
Pick up a flag from a bucket on barrel #1,
round the far end barrel,
put your flag in the bucket on barrel #3.  
Flag must stay in the bucket...
no hitting your horse with the flag.

Entry Fees:
$12 / family  for all events
$7 / single  for all events
$4 / event
$5 / event for non-members
exhibitions $4 / run

First participating Play Day of each month is
Bonus Play Day.  Each member will receive
Double  Points for placings.
